Description

This Course covers the requirements of WCT5 competencies for Telecommunication Technicians working on or near Power Company Lines (such as Overhead Poles)

The Course covers Legislative, Assest Owner and Employer responcibilities and requirements for Minimum Approach distances to such lines.

The Course is approximately 3 hours in duration.

 

Course Objective

The course outlines:

  • What is a MAD
  • Application and requirements of MADs
  • The MAD's Defined by Legislation
  • MAD's Defined by the Safety Manuals for Electrical Industy (SM-EI) and assest owners
  • Employer requirements and processes.
  • Exceptions for Competent Persons
  • Safety Issues when applying MADs

Note There is plenty of parking on-site within the campus.

Please ensure you arrive early as persons arriving after the course has commenced will be rescheduled to a later course.
