Gavin previously worked at Skills as a training manager after having owned his own custom electronic design business for 12 years. Gavin has been a tradie, an employer and a self-employed businessman, as well as being part of the NZ Navy.

Gavin has been with E-tec for 10 years now. He started as the training manager and then got into development and writing material. From there he became the Programmes Manager and took responsibility for the 28 academic programmes E-tec run.
