Steve Wilford – Electrotechnology Trainer
Steve started his electrician’s apprenticeship in 2003 after working in a trailer yard and a theatre while studying Occupational Therapy at AUT. Qualifying and registering as an Electrician in 2006, his electrical work has included residential, commercial and industrial work.
From 2010 Steve started a small business subcontracting to his last employer (Climatech) and then growing the business to include several key customers. He started teaching night classes for Etco in 2018, and progressed to full time before coming to E-tec in 2021.
“I find teaching rewarding, and enjoy teaching beginners to qualified trades people. The electrical field is fantastic because it’s a great blend of science and hands-on action. You start with the atom and finish with a pair of pliers in your hand.”
