E-tec Safety Training for Trainee Limited Certificate

Safety Training for Limited Certificates (TLC)

A Trainee Limited Certificate is needed if you want to work while you are training, or if you need to complete certain examinations or work experience before your registration and you need to work while achieving them.

Electrical Competence Programme

Formerly known as the Electrical Refresher Course, the Electrical Competence Programme covers the EWRB requirements for renewing practicing licences for Electricians, Electrical Installers, and Electrical Engineers.

Serviceperson Competence Programme

Formerly known as the Electrical Refresher Course, the Serviceperson Competence Programme covers the EWRB requirements for renewing practicing licences for Electrical Appliance Servicepersons, Electrical Service Technicians, and Associated Tradespersons.

Electrical Regulations

This course is designed to develop your knowledge of New Zealand’s Electrical Regulations and their application, and to prepare you for your Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Electrician’s Regulations examination.

Electricians Theory

Anyone wishing to register as an electrician in New Zealand must meet the criteria set out by the EWRB. This course is designed to develop your knowledge of the essentials of electrical theory, preparing you for your Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Electrician’s Theory examination.

Electrical Installer Theory

Anyone wishing to register as an electrical installer in New Zealand must meet the criteria set out by the EWRB. This course is designed to develop your knowledge of the essentials of electrical theory and to prepare you for your Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Electrical Installer Theory examination.

E-tec Safety Training for Trainee Limited Certificate

Electrical Appliances Serviceperson (EAS)

This course prepares the candidate to pass the EAS examination, including the completion of the practical assessment required by the EWRB.

Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (Endorsed) (EASQ)

This course prepares the candidate to pass the EASQ examination, including the completion of the practical assessment required by the EWRB.

Electrical Service Technician (EST)

This course prepares the candidate to pass the EST examination, including the completion of the practical assessment required by the EWRB.

E-tec Safety Training for Trainee Limited Certificate

Electrical Inspector

Any electrician wishing to register as an electrical inspector in New Zealand must meet the criteria set out by the EWRB.

Associated Tradesperson (ATP)

This course is for soon-to-be registered or fully registered Plumbers and/or Gasfitters wanting to carry out prescribed electrical work, such as water heater installation and waste disposal servicing.

Practical Assessment

Composite Electricians Practical Assessment Stage 1,2,3

This Composite Practical Assessment course (for Electricians or Electrical Installers) combines all three Practical Assessment courses into one block course over a one-week period, saving you time and money compared to completing the assessments individually.

Electricians Practical Assessment and Training for Engineers

This course is designed to assist holders of a recognised Electrical Engineering Degree to gain registration with the EWRB as a Registered Electrical Engineer under option two, as defined by the ‘Rules of the Board’. The course includes both theoretical and practical training in addition to the EWRB Stage 1, 2 & 3 Practical Assessments.

Practical Assessment Stage 1

If you have experience working as an electrician overseas, but are new to the New Zealand electrical industry, the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) will need to advise you on the assessments you are required to complete before you can get licensed.

E-tec Safety Training for Trainee Limited Certificate

Electric Motors

This course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to safely work on single phase and 3 phase electric motors. You will practice on great tools under the supervision of passionate tutors.

Structured Cabling

The Structured Cabling course is designed for technicians installing structured cabling in residential, commercial, and industrial environments, as well as for security technicians installing structured cable for security camera, access control or alarm systems.

Programmable Logic Controller

This course covers basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including the ability to design and implement a simple program on any one type of PLC.
