Sean Patrick student testimonial
Student testimonial – Sean Patrick
Firstly, why did you attend this course? Do you feel it delivered in that area?
I needed the qualification for my associated trade electrical certification. I also do a lot of hot water cylinders and appliance repairs which often call for electricians. It definitely delivered what I needed to qualify in those areas.
What were the highlights of the course?
How Gavin ran it. He knew the trade, he knew what we needed to know, and that’s what he concentrated on. There wasn’t any chaff.
How did the facilitators enhance your learning experience?
There was a lot of interactive learning, and Gavin always asked if we understood stuff. If anyone didn’t understand he’d go back two or three times until we got it.
For the practical training we did, he had good items set up for testing. Items with pre-built faults, so we could work at figuring things out.
I think the course and training was designed to actually help the people who were on it understand the material as easily as possible.
What will you be able to achieve since taking our course?
The main thing is that I won’t need to bring an electrician in quite as often. Cash-wise, it should probably save me between 25 and 50 thousand dollars per year. And now that I can fault-find on electrical items myself, I can complete the job quickly, which is more convenient for the client.
Would you recommend it?
Yes, definitely.
Finally, how do you see the course helping others? Why?
I do. Basically for the same reasons it helped me. It will enable a plumber to do installations, element replacements and the like, without the need for an outside electrician. Which again, financially makes better sense, and works out more conveniently for everyone.
I’ll just add, I have spoken to plumbers who have done similar courses through other providers, and they haven’t had great experiences. So I consider myself quite lucky to have found E-tec, and have had Gavin as a tutor. Because for me the course delivered absolutely everything I needed.
